Holiday Greetings!

Mommy Academy invites you to join us in bringing more Christmas joy to our neighboring communities this holiday season. On December 15, 2008 (Monday) at 3:00 in the afternoon, Mommy Academy will be organizing a get-together for the families of the Kapatid Center. The Kapatid is our Values, Health and Livelihood Center, and the outreach branch of the Mommy Academy-TBC/Gerry Geronimo Group. On the program proper, prizes, games and giveaways will be distributed to participants, and of course, a sumptuous meal will be served to cap off the occasion.

At this point we hope that you would consider supporting this year end activity in any way possible. Anything your group can give will be received with much gratitude. Although, items such as toys, clothes, toiletries, medicines, school supplies, children’s books and food for the Christmas party are preferred, anything that you can share will be much appreciated.

The Mommy Academy’s Kapatid Center launched its Six-Month Supplemental Feeding Program on February 11, 2008 to the underprivileged children of Brgy. San Antonio, Paranaque City. It is a year-round program targeting 1,000 kids with below normal level nutrition status.

The Kapatid Center is now providing free medical consultation, medications and health assistance to boost-up the nutrition & welfare of the less fortunate children, and also conducts free seminars/workshops on values formation, health and livelihood.

MA CLUB UPDATE

Being one of the leading advocates in educated and active parenting, Mommy Academy continues to reach out to more and more parents around the country to promote its advocacy of educated and active parenting. Now in its 8th year Mommy Academy is exploring new ways with new avenues and events to further pursue our goal --- to create a legion of active, educated and responsible and good child raisers, made possible through its parent support group, the MA Club.

Ma Club delivers its advocacy trough different free parenting events, services and support linkages. To highlight some of its activities, we have the Pedia Talk Live!. In fact, this averages to 1000 parents per event based on the 24th Pedia Talk Live! held last May of this year. These seminars and workshops allow parents, doctors and experts to tackle different issues and concerns relevant to practical parenting and childcare. As in the past years, topics include pregnancy concerns, newborn matters, training toddlers, and raising pre-schoolers. As an added consideration, Mommy Academy also set up daycare/activity centers at each event where 0-9 year old children can be left to play. The Pedia Talk Live is in its 27th Edition come October this year.

We also have the Kid Adventures, a half day fun activity for kids and parents alike, which strengthens the family bond and provide children opportunities to enhance and discover their skills and talents through sports clinic, play activities, craft sessions and more. This year, the MA Club’s Kid Adventure has given Swimming Lessons (Pasay City Sports Club), Sports Clinic (Ateneo Covered Courts) and Arts and Craft (with My Masterpiece in Glorietta).
Another is the MA Club Learning Sessions which is a 2-3hr group session of 30-50 pax maximum, providing up-to-date information especially for pregnant and newly given birth moms. To date Mommy Academy have also developed a tie up with different hospitals in the Metro to further reach out to parents regarding their pregnancy and infant care concerns. Twice this year, Mommy Academy have also conducted its Pregnancy & Baby Series, a parenting event exclusive to pregnant and newly given birth mothers, concerning pregnancy concerns.
We also have the Parenting by the Book, an intimate group session all about parenting straight from the life’s ultimate manual, the Holy Bible. This is the latest addition to MA Clubs advocacy events exclusive to MA Club members.

Also, Mommy Academy is touring around the country with The Barangay Tour Series – a three part parenting program consisting of Health, Values Formation, Livelihood Forum and as well as Free Medical Consultation together with the Local Government Units and MA partner experts and Advocacy Partners. To date Mommy Academy has gone to over 50 barangay with a participation base of 200-300 pax (apprx. 15,000 parents educated) per event and continues to do so today.

The MA Club is also going full blast with its advocacy and reach-out projects with MA Cares and Kapatid: a Health, Values and Livelihood Facility launched recently in Brgy. San Antonio Valley 1 in Sucat, Parañaque providing basic health consultations, values formation seminars and livelihood training as well. Bulk of MA Club Membership proceeds goes in the maintenance of the said facility. So Club members not only enjoy the exciting perks and benefits of being club member, but they were also able to extend their help with the less fortunate members of our community.

This year, our television show Mommy Academy aired every Saturday 11:00am to 11:30 am on IBC 13 is taking further steps to effectively communicate and give further programming value to the viewers as it undergo major overhauling with new segments and features you’ll able to relate and love. Only by God’s grace Mommy Academy being the longest running parenting show in Philippine Television is now reaching the whole archipelago via IBC 13. So expect a whole new and better Mommy Academy very soon.

Being an MA Club member we encourage you to be active and take part with all our activities such as parenting events, membership meetings and reach-out projects as we go full blast of our advocacy to reach out to more and more parents all over the country and educate them how to raise future good raiser. By doing so, you’re taking a small step into helping us realize our dream to create a good parenting generation for the future!

Last August 18, 2007 Mommy Academy invades Glorietta 2 for it's Kid Adventures entitled Color Your World together with My Masterpiece. Everyone sure had the time of their lives with a lot of fun activities: Art Lessons and Musical feats all day long. Mommy Academy's Kid Adventures: Balls of Fun at the Ateneo de Manila University Grade School Covered Courts.

Mommy Academy’s Mom of the year Suzanne delos Santos is a mother of two wonderful children, 5 yr. old Angelo & 3 yr. old, Gwen. Her husband, Pierre works abroad---making her a full time single mom! Here she shares her struggles and joys and how MA Club has helped her in all her parenting needs.

On being a Full time Mom…

As per my husband's request, I resigned last June 2003 and I became full time Mom. Well it was really hard. We had no yaya so that mean’s only me and my hubby taking care of our kid’s and most of the time ME!

On becoming an MA Club member...

I got to know Mommy Academy thru the MA magazine which I was able to get in Maxibear, Maxitoylab or Big & Small, for minimum purchases. Then from that mag, I got to watch Mommy Acdemy at ABC 5. I eventually became very active and excited in pre-registering for MA events like the Pedia Talk Live and MA Kid Adventures. But, unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend most of these events as i was busy taking care of the kids alone.

Then came a chance…

Came the last quarter of 2005, i was able to get a part time yaya for the kids, so I took the advantage of having the chance to attend MA Kid Adventure, Balls of Fun at Adidas Sports Camp, October 2005, and the kid’s loved it!

From then on, I never missed any PTL, learning sessions, or MA Kid Adventure!

On being an active MA Club member…

Attending MA’s parenting events and learning sessions, It never fails to inspire and give me knowledge of being a good parent. What I mean here, is to be a better Mom. It's really hard especially when your hubby's out of the country, with the kids all depending on you. It's totally a headache, to take care of your children alone.
Mommy Academy gave me all the parenting guides I need plus the fun! Not mentioning the perks and freebies, what can I ask for more? That’s why I even volunteer and became really really active in participating with different MA events and anything that can be of help to Mommy Academy, I would appreciate it, because it has done so many things for me.

More power and God bless to all MA Team. May you never get tired of educating parents, especially Mothers like me.

We really, really wanted to hear from you, for us to serve you better trough parenting activities, thus it really warms our hearts to know we are helping you in our own little ways!

I've always looked forward to attending Mommy Academy events because for sure my little angel and me is sure to have fun and enjoy the activities whether it's a Pedia Talk Live, a mall event, or swimming at the Pasay City Sports Center...

As always, both the Splash-O-Rama and Huggies Fun for Mommy and Me were a success! Thank you for organizing events such as these so parents and kids can bond together.

Huggies has always been a very generous sponsor!! Food stubs were not as limited as in the previous events(hubby, my babe and I didn't have to share with just one snack serving). And I liked the toiletry kits with product samples (very good products!) that they gave away last May 5. I hope Huggies continues to co-sponsor in the future events =) As in the past, I appreciate very well (and I'm sure most parents do, too) the Huggies Diaper Changing Booth as well as the very useful giveaways. =)

In the past three events, I have been receiving call invites through I guess, a phone brigade. I think it's a great way to promote upcoming events. Although I know this requires extra work on your staff, I still would say, keep it up =)

Hubby, my daughter and I will be attending Spalsh-O-Rama 2 and June 9's PTL. Please add us to your registration list: Adriano and Bianca Relucio with Chloe Francine, age 3.

By the way, is it possible for MA to ask sponsorship again from Gonuts Donuts (for free yum-yum-yummy donut treats) and Star City on May 26?? These are the sponsors that I was looking forward to seeing last April, but sadly, they weren't there.. Also do invite again, was it Kathy's beads?? Basta yung accessory-making for the PTL!! It was a really good crafty (and bonding) activity for moms and tots to do while waiting for the program to begin, I just love it!
